Hi, I’m Megan, I’m 11 years old and I’m the Chief Creator (AKA THE BIG BOSS LADY) of Wood + Stencil Co.

This business started during the infamous COVID-19 pandemic. During COVID, I’m sure I wasn’t the only person lying in their pj’s upside down in bed all day. Apparently I’m not allowed to waste my life away doing nothing so I had to find something to do.

My mom was the one who first got me into entrepreneurial stuff. Back in November 2019, my school held an autumn market and I sold handmade scrunchies. It was so rewarding seeing a customer that was happy with their purchase. That moment made me realize how much I loved being a young entrepreneur.

I’ve always had a passion for decorating. I love to watch home improvement shows and to rearrange my room. My favorite home improvement show is Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines. This year, for my aunt’s birthday, my mom, brother and I made her a personalized wood sign. It was really fun to make and so for my mom’s birthday, my brother and I also made her one. My mom and aunt were so happy, they cried. I knew I was onto something and thus the business was born.

I’m still not sure whether I have more fun coming up with new products and designs, or seeing the finished product displayed in my room, but I do know that I really love seeing people around me happy so I really hope that you enjoy making these craft kits.

Hi, I'm Cherie. I won't tell you my age, but I might be old enough to be your mother. I'm the Chief Catalyst of Wood + Stencil Co. When Megan first came to me with the idea of creating DIY Craft Kits, I was THRILLED to support her on her endeavour into entrepreneurship. People who know me know that I am an entrepreneur at heart. It has been a wild ride and truly an empowering time of our lives. I am so proud of all that Megan has accomplished so far, and I am very excited to get these craft kits into the hands of budding artists. We've put a lot of heart into creating these DIY Craft Kits and hope you enjoy them!
